Space is the most extreme environment of lighting for human. The ISS (International Space Station) has a speed of 28,000km per hour which means the astronauts will see 16 sunrises and 16 sunsets in one day. They can no longer adapt their circadian rhythm by natural light thus only count on artificial lighting. The challenge is no only about providing superb quality of the hardware, but must be able to provide sufficient biological lighting for healthy emotion, effective biological clock regulation and excellent visual comfort.

Working together with SAGA Space Architects, Yuji Lighting provides the solutions in a most comprehensive way for an all-weather lighting environment including 7 different recipes:

• SunWave™ series of natural circadian tunable white to mimic the natural lighting spectrum, achieving CRI up to 99;
• Well24™ series of intensive circadian tunable white to enhance the melanopic lighting effect to a stronger circadian stimulus;
• FlameWarm™ and RhythMax™ series of extreme circadian non-white light to achieve the circadian effect to the greatest level by m-DER from 0.042 to 2.000 when maintain the sufficient luminous efficacy;
• Single color LED to combine an RGB system for multiple color portfolios for emotional regulation.
