The healthcare center is where patients — especially the elderly — come to recover. Many spend most of their time indoors, often in bed, so the lighting requirements are:
• m-EDI ≥ 250 lx throughout the day (DIN 67600 & CIE TN015).
• m-EDI ≤ 10 lx throughout the evening (CIE TN015).
• m-EDI ≤ 1 lx throughout the night (CIE TN015).
• UGR < 19.
• Horizontal illuminance at floor level ≥ 250 lx.
• Emergency mode: 750 lx at floor level, Ra > 90, R9 > 50.
Since most patients are elderly with declining visual performance, the lighting should offer a wide dynamic range between m-EDI and visual illuminance to accommodate people of different ages, using the various correction factors from DIN 5031-100.
Yuji Lighting's intensive circadian solutions deliver an m-DER range from 0.042 (Night-light Mode) to 1.000 (Vitality Mode) — enough headroom for higher illuminance levels while keeping the circadian stimulus safe.
Together, Yuji Lighting's deep-set anti-glare Cira-Stellar downlight and Cira-Flow strip light create a uniform, comfortable, glare-free environment for the patient room.
